Atty. Antonio "Tony" M. Clayton is the senior partner in the law firm of Clayton and Fruge' in which the firm has strong emphasis in civil litigation - representing such companies as Ford Motor Company, Mid-Continent Insurance Company and various corporate entities as well as major plaintiff-oriented cases.
Mr. Clayton received an undergraduate degree from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge in the area of Political Science; and in 1991, graduated Cum Laude while receiving the Juris Doctorate from the Southern University Law Center.
The Plaquemine, Louisiana native and Oscar, Louisiana resident began his private law practice in 1991. In the ensuing years, his legal career expanded into the public sector as he served in such capacities as Prosecutor and Special Prosecutor, respectively, in the Parish of East Baton Rouge; Special Prosecutor for the 18th Judicial District Court; and as Parish Attorney in the Parish of West Baton Rouge. In 1997, Atty. Clayton became one of the youngest judges in Louisiana when appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court to the bench as District Court Judge.
Clayton currently serves as a civil attorney. He works as the hired gun for The West Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney's office when they need a prosecutor to scare a criminal into pleading because no one wants to chance it against him in court. Tony's success in Baton Rouge is legendary in that he is responsible for convicting the Infamous Serial Killer Derrick Todd Lee.
